Bloor Street / Yorkville Walking Tour

Bloor Street, is one of the main city streets in the downtown core.  The area around Bloor is less hectic than that of the city core, but certainly, it is no less interesting.

Bloor Street is home to many high end shops and boutiques as well as many of the cultural institutions that exist in the city. The tour will take us along Bloor and veer off into the campus of the world renowned University of Toronto. You will hear about the many discoveries and research that has come from this prestigious school.

The tour will cross to the other side of Bloor and visit the area known as Yorkville. Yorkville, as you will quickly discover, is one of the city’s most beautiful areas.

While walking through Yorkville, you will hear about the evolution of area through the past 200 years.  From its beginnings as as a village north of the city of Toronto, to the time it became one of Toronto’s first ‘suburbs’ in the 1890s up to the 1960’s when it was  a haven for the counter culture (hippies).  You will also see first hand, where it is today;  to where it is today as a home of numerous 5 star hotels, beautiful quiet shopping streets top notch restaurants and bistros as well as independent coffee shops. This part of Toronto, has grown and evolved with Toronto.

By the time this tour has ended, you will understand why this area has become the home to celebrities when visiting the city, and why the locals come here to experience the best the city has to offer.

We had a great time with a very knowledgeable tour guide. We highly recommend this tour!!

We had a tour in a very small group and I really enjoyed the casual atmosphere. Our guide was very well informed and we had long chats about all kinds of things relating to the city and more. I'd very much recommend these guys to everyone who's looking for a tour that's actually fun and informative. It will not bore you to death with long speeches about figures and dates something was built but give you actual useful information :)

When you walk, you have time to really appreciate the architecture and layout of the city. Buzz Tours not only gives you the opportunity to do this, but the tour guides (all Toronto residents), tell wonderful historical stories and facts about the city.

A very different side of downtown. Experience the less traveled part of downtown and discover the museums; high end shops on Bloor Street; Canada's top ranked university; a shopping enclave called Yorkville, and Canada's largest LGBTQ community. See and experience some of the most beautiful and diverse spots in the city on this 3 hour guided walking tour.
